William E. Whittaker is a research archaeologist at the Office of the State Archaeologist, University of 91ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ. The author of many scholarly articles on 91ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ archaeology and history, he is also the editor of Frontier Forts of 91ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ (91ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ, 2009) and the Journal of the 91ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ Archeological Society. Thousands of his photographs of the remains of small 91ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ towns have been published online by the 91ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ Digital Library and the University of 91ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ’s Digital Studio for the Public Humanities. He lives in 91ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ City, 91ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ.
